Jobs – Roof Gutter Cleaner

I run a small business in the Dandenong Ranges in the east of Melbourne, in Victoria, cleaning house roof gutters. So applicants would be working on roof tops (in harnesses of course) and need to be ok with heights. My business name is Guttergirls you can check me out on fb or linked in.

This is classed as casual work, because the hours of work change according to weather as we do not work in rain. (It rains a lot in winter) But the work is constant and ongoing and in drier weather there is lots of work. (Of course, I pay award rates which is $28.97 per hour and the award goes up every 1st July with cpi.)

To be allowed to work in this job you need a ‘white card’, which is a 1-day course that can be done on a zoom class on computer for about $180.00

And you need a ‘working at heights certificate’ which is a 1-day course held at many r.t.o.’s in Melbourne and costs roughly $240.00

You need a vaccination certificate to go to the training and Id. So, they can be issued with a U.S.I. (universal student number) which records the training against their name. Also, they need work safety boots to be able to do the course which has a practical component in harness training.

Some employment agencies can provide funding for this if they are eligible(?).

If this is a problem, I am more than happy to organize for the training and they can pay me back out of their wages.

I have hired many backpackers before and this is an ideal job for anyone who does not have a formal training or a career. It is simple cleaning in a nice outdoor environment up in the mountains and peaceful work for someone who has been thru hell. I am a great boss and often employ people on disability so my staff are able to recover from trauma.

This work is ideal for women as I know many Ukrainian men got left behind to fight. They need to be less than 100kg as the roofs and ladders do not support heavy people. Having been a mum myself, children come first so there is no problem at work if they need time off for sick children or school time or doctors or immigration agents etc.

I don’t speak Ukrainian, but if I can help with their English I will.

If they do not have a car or license, they can catch a train to Belgrave train station to meet me and I can take them to work in my car for the day.

This would suit someone who lives in the Eastern suburbs who can get to Belgrave station. Or even along the m1 freeway between Pakenham to Narre warren as that is my route to and from work most days.

Feel free to call me if you have any questions.
